A BILL WOODFULL biography, available from Ken Piesse of the ACS

There is to soon be available in Melbourne a limited-edition biography of Australia's Bodyline captain Bill Woodfull entitled WOODFULL, GENTLEMAN & SCHOLAR by Dr Alan Gregory, produced by the Melbourne High School Old Boys (Woodfull having been headmaster of the school for almost two decades after the War).

It is a paperback and 250-plus pages. The print run is strictly 500. It is a fascinating insight into one of Australia's true greats. a man who refused a knighthood. because it was offered for his contributions to cricket rather than for his educational endeavours. This as the first ever Woodfull biography. There was a Woodfull-Ponsford book by Marc Fiddian in 1988 but that is 'lightweight' compared with this one by Dr Gregory, who is an acclaimed researcher and entertaining story teller.

The Australian RRP is including postage and Ken has access to a limited number of signed copies.

The Lord's Taverners Australia - Victorian Branch members can order direct through Ken, or via his website as below:
